Further updates to previous Kaikoura earthquake results

We have previously reported the world-record PGA measured by a CUSP-3C at geoNet station WTMC during the Kaikoura earthquake, here and here.

More detailed information on very high shaking, its characteristics and causes can be found in this article by GNS Seismologist Anna Kaiser.

Also of note is this interesting table in Wikipedia. CSI now holds Number 1 (Kaikoura 2016) and Number 3 (Christchurch 2011) measurements of peak ground shaking ever measured during an earthquake.
